Wine tasting - and more food - in Santorini

We stayed at Finikia Memories, a lovely hotel in Oia, on the eastern side. Wonderfully maintained, polite staff, great value for money, with very good breakfast included. About a lazy, 30 minute stroll from the busy part of Oia. 

Finikia Memories is a 15 minute walk from the Domain Sigalas winery, where we spent a delightful few hours sampling a variety of wines.

After the lovely wine tasting, we headed off by taxi to the very well reputed Sunset Restaurant at Ammoudi, by the water. 

From Ammoudi, a 30-minute taxi ride took us to the ferry port at Thira, for the ride back to Heraklion (Crete). The taxi driver said that during season, it would have taken us 30 minutes to drive 1 to 2 kilometres. Indeed, Sept-Oct is an excellent season to visit Santorini.
