Crete to Santorini - Island hopping in Greece
Crete (Heraklion Port) to Santorini (Thira), Sept 30, 2016.
The Seajets Ferry from Heraklion to Santorini took about 4 hours. We sat out on the deck, a wonderfully sunny experience, with a strong, chill breeze all the way.

The Hellenic Seajets Ferry ride from Santorini to Crete was about 2 hours. We were not allowed to go outside, and had to sit inside the cabin all the way. Very comfortable. A rather quiet ride, compared to the slower Crete to Santorini ferry when we had sat outside on the sunny and breezy deck all the way.

Heraklion (Iraklion), Crete - Gateway to Greek Islands
At Ostbahnof station in Munich, waiting for the train to Munich Airport. We would then board the flight to Heraklion (Crete Island).
About to land at Heraklion, after a fairly long, 3 hour flight. There is one time zone difference between Munich and Crete.
View from our hotel - Lato Boutique Hotel - at sunrise, as were were getting ready to head to the post for our ferry ride to Santorini Island.
A cool beer on the flight back to Munich from Heraklion.
Ironically enough, we had flown between one of the world's top ranked airports (Munich #5 best) and one of the world's bottom ranked airports (Heraklion #7 out of 10 worst). While we did not fly into Santorini, CNN Travel ranked Santorini airport at #5 out of 10 worst. Source: CNN Travel, Oct 19, 2016.
